Todd McDonald, AIF® Certified Family Business Specialist®

Since 1995, Todd has combined his insider’s knowledge of the construction industry with his extensive planning experience and unique ability to connect with field staff, executives and entrepreneurs as he provides his clients with the financial clarity they need to understand their risks and opportunities. A typical day begins at 4:30 a.m. as Todd gets a head start on preparing to meet the needs of those who have placed their trust in Broadstone Advisors advising the leaders and employees of family-owned, closely held and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) businesses within the heavy highway, civil, general construction, specialty subcontractors, quarry operations, and asphalt/concrete manufacturing industries. Todd has worked extensively with union and open shop firms, many with business interests formed over a century ago. Ultra high-end custom building contractors and real estate developers round out Todd’s portfolio of clients. Todd resides with his wife, Lisa, in the Capital District of New York and Naples, Florida. Todd and Lisa have three successful, adult children. Todd’s personal interests include pursuing the elusive goal of lowering his golf handicap, throwing a fly line, boating in Southwest Florida, and breaking clays with any family member, friend, or client that will join in the fun.

Kyle Sumple, AIF® CPFA®

Kyle was introduced to Todd and the Broadstone Advisors team in 2010 while attending Siena College on a baseball scholarship. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, he began his career in the financial services industry and quickly found his passion in helping others navigate life’s financial complexities. Kyle’s competitive drive—shaped on the baseball field—has played a key role in the growth and leadership of Broadstone’s practice over the past 15 years. Today, Kyle works closely with business owners and families, leading planning engagements that help bring clarity, direction, and results. Broadstone is dedicated to helping successful people simplify the financial decisions in their lives and businesses, and Kyle takes pride in the lasting relationships he builds along the way. “Our process of identifying goals, developing customized solutions, and hands-on implementation allows us to create long-term value for our clients.” He believes true success isn’t measured by personal accolades, but by the progress and financial confidence his clients experience: “Success is measured not by personal achievement, but by the achievement of our clients’ success.” Kyle lives in Latham with his wife Kristen and their three children. Outside of work, you’ll find him on the golf course, cheering on the Yankees and Bills, or spending time with family and close friends.

Kristina Hayden

As a founding member of Broadstone Advisors, Kristina has played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s operational foundation. With decades of experience in the financial industry, she blends deep technical expertise with a people-first approach, helping the team operate with both precision and purpose. Kristina holds an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Technology Drafting from Hudson Valley Community College. She is licensed in Life and Health Insurance and is a certified Notary Public. Her commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of her work—from optimizing internal systems to delivering outstanding client service. Based in Brunswick with her husband Rob and their two daughters, Cailyn and Morgan, Kristina frequently travels to Florida to visit her son Ryan. She’s happiest when surrounded by family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, staying active in her community, or discovering a great local spot to eat and connect. Her warmth, nurturing spirit, and dedication are at the heart of Broadstone’s team culture.

Kevin Reich, CFA®

Kevin brings over 15 years of experience in portfolio management and investment research to the Broadstone Advisors team. As a CFA Charterholder, he helps design and manage investment strategies tailored to the unique needs of construction-focused business owners and executives. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of South Florida and an MBA from Georgia Tech. At Broadstone, Kevin focuses on delivering disciplined, research-driven solutions that align with each client’s long-term financial goals. Kevin lives in New York City with his wife and daughter. Originally from Florida, he enjoys travel, fitness, and staying connected to the markets. His calm, analytical approach brings a steady hand to the investment side of Broadstone’s client relationships.

Erica Hubert, CFP®, CPWA®

Erica brings over a decade of experience in the financial services industry to the Broadstone Advisors team. In all aspects of her life, she’s driven by a deep commitment to building lasting relationships. She takes pride in being part of a team that supports clients throughout life’s many stages, helping turn financial aspirations into confident, empowered decisions. Born in Nashville and raised across the globe as part of a military family, Erica spent most of her formative years in Florida with stops in the Azores & North Dakota. She now lives in Halfmoon with her partner, Logan, and their Norwegian Elkhounds. Erica is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, snowshoeing, Pilates, and reading. She’s currently working her way through the Adirondack 46 High Peaks and often travels for live music.

DJ O’Connell

With more than a decade in the financial industry, DJ has helped clients bring clarity and confidence to their financial lives through retirement planning, tax strategies, and risk management. At Broadstone Advisors, he brings a practical, athlete’s mindset to financial planning—focusing on discipline, performance, and teamwork. DJ’s athletic background includes playing college lacrosse, where he was part of three national championship teams. That same competitive drive now fuels his commitment to helping clients navigate the financial complexities of life and business. He lives in Glenville with his wife and two sons. When he’s not meeting with clients or working on financial strategies, you’ll find him on the golf course, skating, or enjoying time outdoors with his family.

McKenna Ryan

As Broadstone Advisors’ Retirement Plan Coordinator, McKenna Ryan is a key point of contact for 401(k) clients, helping plan stakeholders stay organized, informed, and confident in their retirement strategy. She holds her FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 licenses and earned both her Bachelor’s degree and MBA from The College of Saint Rose. A native of Troy, NY, McKenna brings a warm, client-first mindset to her work, believing that solid retirement planning is built on strong relationships and thoughtful guidance. Outside the office, McKenna enjoys staying active through metabolic workouts and long walks, traveling with friends on weekend getaways, and spending time with her two dogs, Teddy (Dorkie) and Brody (Shitzu Mix).

Gavin Quinn

Gavin supports the Broadstone Advisors team with data-driven insights and strategic analysis, assisting the firm advisors in helping construction industry clients navigate complex financial challenges. Since joining Broadstone, he has contributed to creating executive financial planning, retirement plan design, succession strategies, and generational wealth transfer strategies. A graduate of the University at Albany with a degree in Finance, Gavin combines a sharp analytical skillset with a strong understanding of risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and financial modeling. He holds a Life and Health Insurance License and the FINRA Series 7 and 66 license. Outside of work, Gavin enjoys staying active—whether it’s playing golf, basketball, or pickleball. He’s also a passionate fan of the Buffalo Bills and brings that same loyalty and energy to the clients and colleagues he supports.

Samantha Galipeau

Samantha plays a vital role in the daily operations at Broadstone Advisors, where she oversees client onboarding, plan servicing, and compliance workflows. With a focus on operational efficiency, she ensures every client interaction is streamlined, responsive, and grounded in the firm’s commitment to excellence. Samantha holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Sage College of Albany and is licensed in Life and Health Insurance, with FINRA registrations. Her expertise spans process optimization, documentation, and strategic workflow management—helping the firm continually enhance the client experience. Samantha resides in Brunswick and treasures meaningful time spent with friends and family. She is an avid reader who enjoys spending quiet moments with a good book. To unwind and recharge, Samantha often seeks out sunshine and serenity—frequently escaping to warm, coastal destinations like Florida, where she can relax and reset.
